Nestled in the vineyards of Saint-Emilion, 5 km away from the historical village, Château Fleur de Lisse is a lovely family estate where the owner Caroline Teycheney and her team make wonderful wines.  The estate dates back to the 1850s and was one of the largest vineyards in Saint Étienne de Lisse in the early twentieth century.  From 1940 to 2015 it belonged to the Minvielle family, who over the years modernized the cellars and built a successful wine business.  In 2015, the château was acquired by the Teycheney family, who already owned Château La Loubière and, being passionately interested in farming and wine converted to biodynamic farming methods.

Tasting Notes

An expressive bouquet of red berries, cassis and blackberry is followed by a full bodied and succulent palate.  There is wonderful balance of fruit and tannins.  The finish is refined, with discreet back-of palate notes of toast and wood smoke.  Enjoy this refined wine with grilled meat, lamb chops or blue cheese for a decadent taste experience.

Method

A blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, from 40 year old vines, grown on clay and silt soil.  Hand harvested and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and cement tanks.  Aged in barrels, 50% new oak.
