The Allagash Brewing Company has been consistently cited as one of the greatest American craft breweries. Since opening their doors in 1995, Allagash has become one of the most acclaimed and influential craft breweries in America. Their flagship beer, Allagash White, makes up 85% of total production and is widely considered one of the best examples of the style outside of Belgium. The other 15% of production spans American craft styles like IPAs and Stouts, as well as world-class spontaneously fermented and barrel aged beers.
Bishop’s Cellar is extremely proud to introduce this producer to Nova Scotia for the first time!
Tasting Notes
Pouring hazy yellow with a dense white head. Aromas of lemon peel, white pepper, clove, and coriander are perfectly balanced and lead into the flavor and leave a spicy impression on the tongue. Flavours are delicate but perfectly balanced and include notes of light coriander, lemon balm, and orange peel present that themselves in the dry finish. This beer is endlessly refreshing and easy drinking, it also pairs exceptionally well with foods such as; Lobster, Mussels, Oysters, Chevre.
Method
This iconic, award-winning interpretation of a Belgian-style wheat beer is brewed with oats, malted wheat, and raw wheat for a hazy “white” appearance. Spiced with a proprietary special blend of coriander and Curaçao orange peel, Allagash White upholds the Belgian tradition of beers that are both complex and refreshing.
