The Beam family has been distilling since 1795 when Johannes Beam first started making corn whiskey on his farm. People used to bring their own jugs to fill at the distillery and it wasn’t until 1880 that the distillery began bottling under the name “Old Tub.” Prohibition put a stop to “Old Tub” and the distillery was destroyed but James Bauregard Beam rebuilt the distillery in 1933 and a decade later they changed the name to Jim Beam. Today, the Jim Beam brand is the best selling bourbon brand in the world and boasts an extensive product lineup.
Named after Baker Beam, grand nephew of the legendary Jim Beam, Baker’s bourbon is part of the premium portfolio of bourbons from Jim Beam known as the Small Batch Collection.
Tasting Notes
Baker’s boasts a mellow, richly flavored taste with delicious aromas of stewed fruits, zesty spices and toasty vanilla. Baker’s is best served in a snifter with a splash of spring water.
Method
Baker’s Bourbon is produced from a mash bill of 77% Corn, 13% Rye, 10% Malted Barley. Baker’s Bourbon utilizes a special strain of jug yeast that has been in the family for over 60 years and is aged for a minimum of 7 years before being bottled at around 53.5% alcohol by volume.
