Chateau Puyblanquet AOC Saint Emilion Grand Cru (750ml)

This right bank estate is planted to 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.  It is located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, in the eastern portion of Saint Emilion appellation.  The vines are on average, 25 years of age. The vineyard is planted to a vine density of 5,000 vines per hectare on slopes and hillsides with soils of clay and limestone.  The yields are close to 50 hectoliters per hectare and grapes are machine harvested.  The wine is vinified in traditional, tall, rectangular-shaped, cement vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in tanks.

The wine is aged in a combination of tanks and mostly used French oak barrels. This is divided as follows, 80% of the production is aged in the vat, while 20% of the wine is aged in 10% new French, oak barrels for between 12 to 14 months prior to bottling.
