The vineyards at Laurent Miquel in southern France’s Languedoc region date back to 1202, when the monks of Abbey de Fontcaude first began growing vines there. Today, Laurent Miquel is the 8th generation of his family works these vineyards alongside his wife Neasa. They grow local and varietals as well as varietals not normally grown in the region. He farms sustainably and his winemaking philosophy is to respect the past while innovating and improving upon it resulting in a range of elegant, high quality wines with a lot of personality.
Tasting Notes
Fresh, light and easy. One review said it ‘goes down easier than a glass of cold water on a hot day.’ We’ll take that. You’ll find subtle hints of red fruits like wild strawberries, raspberries, a light body and a fresh clean palate with pleasing steely minerality. Enjoy on its own or with light starters and green salads.
Method
This wine is named after the producer’s daughter. A blend of sustainably grown Cinsaut, Syrah and Grenache from the Languedoc Roussillon. Fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks with a short rest in tank before bottling for a fresh and clean result.
