Since 1880, four generations have built up the McGuigan name with the aim to make their brand synonymous with Australian winemaking- and one can argue that they’ve done just that. With high quality and varietally true wines, their home is the Hunter Valley but source grapes from all over South Australia, including McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, and Barossa Valley.

Chief winemaker and CEO Neil McGuigan has over 30 years of experience and has become one of Australia’s most recognized and awarded winemakers. With values that include quality, consistency, and innovation, McGuigan Wines strives to use only the highest quality fruit from vineyards in South East Australia, making something that everyone can buy.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of mulberry, coffee and vanilla bean.  The palate offers dense cherry and blackberry with warming cinnamon and baking spice notes.  The ripe fruit, smooth tannins and medium acidity make for an approachable and easy drinking Cabernet Sauvignon that is ready to enjoy now.  Pairs well with beef, duck and hard cheeses.

Method

Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were harvested from McGuigan’s Limestone Coast Vineyard and transported to the Hunter Valley for vinification. The Limestone Coast zone of South Australia is known for the Cabernet Sauvignon wines produced on its “terra rossa” soil.

This is an amazing Cab Sav. Best I’ve tasted from SA since Bleasdale Mulberry Tree. So rich and flavorful. Really a great wine – and the price is right.
