Conventional
Conventional refers to technical intervention in both the vineyard and the cellar; this can refer to the use of pesticides and/or herbicides when growing the grapes or the use of lab-grown yeast, the addition of acid/sugar, and/or the addition of sulfites at bottling. Most products with this label come from producers who do their best to avoid any intervention at all but it’s possible that some of the aforementioned preventative measures and additions are deemed necessary.
