Organic refers to grapes grown without the use of any chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. Although the term may vary region to region, this principle is generally agreed upon. One important difference with this term usually has to do with sulfites, for example; USDA certified organic wine from the United States prohibits the use of any added sulfites whereas in Europe and Canada, some added sulfites are allowed.
Due to the fact that some wineries choose not to certify organic (for reasons like that of USDA certification, cost, time it takes to acquire certification, etc.), all of our products that are tagged with the term Organic are either organic certified or organic practicing.
