Join Spirits Specialist Kate Fraser for a FREE whisky tasting, featuring the latest from Arran Whisky. After a 160-year hiatus, 1995 saw Lochranza Distillery open and the Isle of Arran returned to whisky production. The hope was that they could capture the island’s unique whisky character…once referred to as “Arran Water”.  Despite the fact this is an island scotch, Arran Malt is not known for its peat. The flavor profile is cereal with a distinct citrus note, thought to come from the use of small stills that are run very slowly. A relatively new distillery in terms of Scotch, Arran is one of the few independent distilleries remaining.
