The Spindrift Brewing Company is now called The Burnside Brewing Company
Established in Dartmouth’s Burnside Park in 2015, and immediately starting out with one single core beer, the Coastal Amber Lager. Spindrift, now Burnside Brewing, made waves throughout the province and quickly started producing a wide range of lagers, then followed with an impressive selection of barrel aged beers, and hoppy ales. All these years later, you’ll find them still focusing on a core lineup of award winning lagers, some under the side brand; Toller, as well as fruited sours, IPA’s, and thick stouts.
Tasting Notes
Crafted using single decoction and featuring Czech grown hops and traditionally floor malted barley. Spicy, herbal aroma with notes of citrus and the clean, snappy bitterness synonymous with the style. Brewed the way it was meant to be. Na zdravi!
Method
Czech Pilsner is the original version of Pilsner. In comparison to a German Pilsner it should have a richer mouthfeel and an almost creamy carbonation. Hop character is noticeable but subtle. The Czech Saaz hop is used, known for higher bittering acids, and intense floral aromas with lots of pepper. Decoction mashing, and long lagering times should also be used for the best results, something many craft brewers are now doing.
