Clay Creek Vineyards is part of a family-owned winery who has been growing grapes since 1924. Sustainable farming practices are central to the family’s firmly held belief that they are responsible for tending the earth using environmentally sensitive farming techniques.  Their wines are made with grapes from some fine California vineyards and are bottled at their family sustainable winery.

Tasting Notes

A fruit forward Cabernet Sauvignon with pronounced aromas, bold flavours and ripe tannins.  Expect aromas of cassis, black cherry, peppercorn, some toast and vanilla.  The palate is luscious and dense with all its dark fruit compote, clove and spice flavours that carry onto a long finish.   Enjoy this with grilled or roast meats and aged cheeses.

Method

Made from selected Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from premium vineyards in Lodi and bottled at the Clay Creek family’s sustainable winery.

This wine is very sweet. Not a normal Cab Sauv, but if you are looking for something on the sweeter side (say converting a white wine drinker to try red) this would be one to use. The black cherry and vanilla is what stands out the most for this wine.
