Fruli is smooth, well rounded and bursting with natural flavour. It’s sweeter than ordinary beers with a hint of bitterness and a little citrus zest that balances out the palate and has been likened to a smoothie with bite with a touch of yoghurt or ice cream. Because real strawberry juice is used instead of extracts, this provides the crucial taste difference and texture and makes Fruli a smooth drinking beer with mass channel appeal.

The Huyghe Brewery in Melle, Belgium is under it’s 4th generation of family ownership, and one of Belgium’s largest. They have a large range of beers they produce, as well as a partnership with the monastery that brews Averbode beer. They are most known for Delirum Tremens. Fruli is a unique blend of white beer and strawberry juice. The juice complements the zestiness of the wheat beer and the result is a balanced and refreshing beer that is packed with strawberry fruit flavour.
Tasting Notes
Method
During the brewing process, and in accordance with all Belgian Witbiers, crushed coriander and dried orange peels are added. Then the first fermentation takes place, and once completed, the beer is transferred into tanks where the strawberry juice is added for a second fermentation of 10 days. The temperature is then reduced for maturation for a further 10 days. The beer is then filtered, and bottled.
