Vignerons Catalans is a producers’ group whose mission is to establish, grow and secure recognition for Roussillon wines in France and abroad.  The group brings together people who have a strong bond with history, values and roots.  Both passionate and visionary wine growers with a strong community spirit, our aim is to craft characterful wines that encapsulate our expertise. 

As a leading company on the Roussillon wine scene, they champion the values of the co-operative movement and the strong identity of wine regions in Catalan country.  Roussillon is a small region that is home to a myriad, outstanding terroirs, a sunny climate, warm weather and wind exposure conducive to wine growing. The geological tapestry into which the vineyards are woven enables the to produce a richly-endowed range of still and dessert wines.  

For over fifty years, they have constantly improved the quality of their products, innovating and developing new concepts; and promoting open-mindedness and respect for the environment.  

Tasting Notes

Pale pink in the glass.  Notes of currant, raspberry and white peach on the nose. The palate is fresh and bright; full of juicy red fruit and a crisp minerality with a long pleasing finish.   This rosé is an ideal aperitif or companion to your summer barbecues, grilled meats and Mediterranean inspired salads.  

Method

This is a cuvée of 65% Pinot Noir, 32% Cinsault, 3% Grenache from several sites throughout the Languedoc Roussillon and various soil types; granite, sand, stone, alluvial and loamy soils. The grapes are picked in the The grapes are picked in the early morning to preserve their freshness. The berries are crushed then delicately pressed in the absence of oxygen. The musts then follow a very tight settling and are then fermented at low temperature.  Though the wine is not certified organic, Les Vignerons Catalans are committed to sustainable farming practices and wine production.
