The vineyards at Laurent Miquel in southern France’s Languedoc region date back to 1202, when the monks of Abbey de Fontcaude first began growing vines there. Today, Laurent Miquel is the 8th generation of his family works these vineyards alongside his wife Neasa. They grow local and varietals as well as varietals not normally grown in the region. He farms sustainably and his winemaking philosophy is to respect the past while innovating and improving upon it resulting in a range of elegant, high quality wines with a lot of personality.
Tasting Notes
Delicate aromas of berries as well as tree fruit; notes of strawberry and raspberry mingle with a suggestion of pear and red apple. The palate is light, with medium acidity and a crisp and dry finish. A rose for anytime; enjoy it with a cheeseboard and figs or have it on hand for a casual barbecue.
Method
A blend of Grenache (60%), Cinsault (20%) and Syrah (20%) harvested at night to preserve acidity. The grapes were immediately pressed and clarified and cool fermented in stainless steel tanks.
