Lightfoot & Wolfville is owned and operated by the Lightfoot family who have been farming in the Annapolis Valley for eight generations.  Lightfoot & Wolfville brings a light touch and enlightened approach to both the agricultural and artisanal aspects of viticulture and winemaking.   They work in harmony with nature and letting the land offer up its innate best, without subjecting it to aggressive inputs. The winery is located on the home farm site, this land has been in Michael’s family for four generations.

Tasting Notes

A fruit-driven sparkling rosé blend designed to showcase a distinctly refreshing blend of aromatic grape varieties. This wine displays the bright Nova Scotia terroir vividly with the region’s signature freshness and fragrant floral aromatics.  Pale peach hue.  The nose is fragrant and expressive with notes of strawberry – rhubarb pie, pink grapefruit and lychee sorbet with floral undertones reminiscent of rosewater. The red fruit carries over to the palate, which is wonderful balanced and focused with fine, lively bubbles and bright acidity providing freshness and persistent length. Bubbly Rosé serves well as a versatile apéritif and is ideal for summer patio sipping or paired with light lunch fare. Suggested pairings include maki sushi, cheese, cured meats, saffron risotto and fruit-based desserts. 


A non-vintage wine, Bubbly Rosé is a blend of multiple vintages to ensure a consistent style, quality level and sustainable production practices, regardless of variation in growing conditions from year to year.  Bubbly Rosé is a proprietary blend of over ten grape varieties including L’Acadie Blanc, Geisenheim, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & New York Muscat.  The grapes were fermented individually in stainless steel and the blend was composed after. Secondary fermentation via the Charmat Method provides a delicate and persistent bubble while letting the primary fruit characteristics shine.  Given the desired style, lees contact time was kept short to preserve freshness and purity of fruit character.  13.6% RS.
