Olivier Coste comes from a family of Languedoc vignerons. His family owns Domaine Montrose, the wine estate was founded in 1701 in Pézenas. With this upbringing, Olivier developed a profound attachment to the Languedoc’s terroir and landscape, and later to its wines. For as long as he can recall, his life has been surrounded by vines and wine. He crafts low intervention terroir driven wines from his homeland.
Tasting Notes
Ripe plum, boysenberry (raspberry/blackberry), cracked pepper, slate and stone. Medium bodied, concentrated, fruity, peppery and energetic on the palate with refined ripe tannins. Try this with grilled pork, subtantial pasta dishes or a meat lovers pizza.
Method
Though not organic certified, this wine is made with organically grown Carignan grapes from old bush vines. Fermented and aged in stainless steel for pure and authentic expression of Carignan from these bush vines grown in thie terroir.
