Olivier Coste comes from a family of Languedoc vignerons. His family owns Domaine Montrose, the wine estate was founded in 1701 in Pézenas. With this upbringing, Olivier developed a profound attachment to the Languedoc’s terroir and landscape, and later to its wines. For as long as he can recall, his life has been surrounded by vines and wine. He crafts low intervention terroir driven wines from his homeland.
Tasting Notes
A floral nose with pear blossom, ripe white peach, juicy and fragrant tangerine, and sun ripened melon. The palate is fruity with a light anise note and a clean finish. Would compliment a plate of prosciutto and melon, many Asian dishes and shellfish.
Method
It’s very rare to taste a single variety Carignan Blanc as so little is planted today. It is a white skinned mutation of the dark skinned and more common Carignan grape variety that is found mainly in southern France and northwestern Spain.
