Bodegas Alceno, founded in 1870, was the first commercial winery in Spain’s Jumilla region. The vines are planted at a height of 600 to 800 meters in rocky and chalky soils. DO Jumilla is located on a high plain in the eastern region of Spain, acting as a transition zone between the Mediterranean coastal area and the high central plateau of Castile-La Mancha.
Tasting Notes
Bright pale yellow. Medium-high aromatic intensity, with hints of flowers and tropical fruits. Notes of honey and stone fruits. Very well balanced with a fresh and pleasant finish.
Method
This wine comes from Sauvignon Blanc vineyards located in the north of the Jumilla DOP, cultivated on trellises at an altitude of 750-800 meters, with a yield of 4,500 kilos per hectare. The harvest is carried out manually in the first half of September. During the production process, we strictly control the temperature to obtain the greatest aromatic potential. We keep the wine in tanks with fine lees for 30 days to obtain greater volume on the palate.
