The Tatamagouche Brewing Company (commonly referred to as “Tata”) is a family owned and operated craft brewery located in the heart of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. In 2014, the family converted an old butcher shop into a brewery, and have since added several additions to the sides and back of the building to help accommodate their growth. In 2023 the brewery launched Nomad, a line of alcohol-free beer. Tata Brew have won awards provincially as well as nationally while they continue to grow their team and brand.
Tasting Notes
Brewed by the women of Tatamagouche Brewing Co. in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Yolande, meaning violet flower; strong, was a barquentine ship built in Tatamagouche in 1883. Honouring the name and the women of Tata Brew, Yolande ISA is brewed with the Yakima Chief x Pink Boots Society annual hop blend. These hops lend bright notes of sweet melon, oranges, and mango which are complimented by smooth malts, resulting in a light and crisp IPA structure.
Tata Brew will be donating portions of our Yolande sales to the Pink Boots Society and local women’s charities.
Method
Session IPAs are hop-forward ales that are similar to pale ales and IPAs in terms of hop aroma and flavour, but are made to a lower degree of alcohol, usually between 3%-5% abv. The style takes inspiration from the great low ABV beers of England, but often are brewed with American or Southern Hemisphere hops.
