Tasting Notes

Garnet red with purple highlights.  Pronounced aromas of cassis with light underlying red pepper notes.  The palate is flavourful and vibrant with firm ripe tannins and pleasing finish.  Enjoy this with roast or grilled meats.

Method

The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in San Patricio del Chañar, at 39° latitude South, 55 km away from the city of Neuquén, in Patagonia.  The steep slopes, relatively cool continental climate, constant cool breezes and water from the Neuquén river optimize grape growing here. The grapes are mechanically harvested at night to take advantage of the cool temperatures. Cold skin maceration for 2 days. Fermentation at 26°C in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. Maceration for 18 days. Fifteen percent of the blend is aged in oak barrels for 10 months.
