The Champagne house of Andre Clouet was established in 1741 in Bouzy within La Montagne de Reims territory. Even before this, the ancestral branch of the Clouet family were well known as the official printers of the King of France, their name was Seneuze.  There is a document dating back to 1680 which is a request for a deed for the purchase of land in Champagne.   Today, Clouet farms about 20 acres of vines in this area that is the most famous Grand Cru village in Champagne for Pinot Noir.  The house of Clouet is a grower/producer house crafting limited amounts of a few different cuvées.

Tasting Notes

This wine smells like walking into a French pastry shop; pronounced aromas of freshly baked bread, warm almond croissont, lemon curd and coconut cream pie.  The palate is opulent and harmonious; balancing richness and texture with well focused acidity that carries onto a lingering finish.  Enjoy this Champagne anytime, with anything and anyone!  Sip it with sea salt or salt and vinegar chips, buttered or truffle popcorn, seafood chowder, turkey dinner or with a cheese course.

Method

The Dream Vintage collection is a masterful gourmet retrospective dedicated to the great vintages of Champagne.  The 2009 vintage is distinguished by very mineral wines with fine citrus aromas, delicious and charming. This sunny, continental year had a cold, dry
winter, followed by a glorious summer with almost no rain in August and September. These conditions favoured traditional vine growth, excellent health and ripeness of the grapes, producing dense, fruity and delicious wines.

This wine is a Blanc de Blancs made entirely from Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims.  The Montagne de Reims is known for its Pinot Noir, so this wine is very unique.  Dosage : 4,8 g/L

Vintage Champagnes must spend at least 12 months on its lees and a minimum of three years in the cellar from tirage to release.
