Les Classiques from France

A wine tasting featuring tried and true selections.

Join us at The Prow Gallery on May 29th, 2026 at 6:00 PM and raise a glass with us while sampling some tried and true bottles from France! Les Classiques explores and honours some of the staples that we’ve sold over the years as May is our birthday month. Our friends from The Bird’s Nest will supply some lightfare and we’re just hoping they have the gougeres, in abundance.

Tenuta Sette Ponti

Another stellar addition to our selection from Italy.

Once the private vineyard of Italian royalty, Tenuta Sette Ponti was reimagined in the 1990s by Antonio Moretti Cuseri, who shifted from selling grapes to crafting premium, estate grown wines. Signature labels Crognolo and Oreno, sourced from old Sangiovese vines in Vigna dell’Impero, quickly earned global attention. Named for the seven bridges over the Arno, among them Buriano, immortalized in Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the estate now focuses on organic wines that capture classic Tuscan character with a focus on perfected vineyard and cellar work.

New!

$180.00

The vineyards of Sette Ponti in central Tuscany were once owned by Italian royals. In the 1950’s princesses Margherita and Maria Cristina di Savoia Aosta sold the land to the Moretti family who to this day run the impressive wine estate.

In the 90s, Alberto’s son Antonio Moretti Cuseri, driven by a passion and an interest in wine he had since he was young, took control of his father’s winery, and worked alongside the best viticulturists and enologists to evaluate the suitability of the land for the production of quality wines, thus launching his own brand. He stopped selling the grapes to other producers and in 1998 released his first label: Crognolo, which is made from clones of the historic Sangiovese vines in the estate’s oldest vineyard, Vigna dell’Impero. For the first time, it’s all about Tenuta Sette Ponti, named for the seven bridges that extend over the Arno River on the road from Florence to Arezzo. Consequently, one of these bridges happens to be the Buriano, which is depicted in the celebrated Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. In 1999, Antonio released the first vintage of Oreno, a wine that after only three harvests reached the top of the most important world wine rankings. In-depth research, an incredible love for vines and for age-old expertise about the art of winemaking has made it possible to make exceedingly high quality, organic wines in line with Tuscan traditions.
