Found in the east end of downtown of St. John’s, Bannerman Brewing is a locally owned and operated brewery, tasting room, cafe and event space. Home to a lighthearted crew, they have a passion for crafting artisanal beer and sharing it with our community.
To know the story of our brewery is to know the history of their neighbourhood. Long before the brewery poured first beer, Bannerman Brewing Co. was the location of the city’s historic East Fire Station. Originally constructed after the Great Fire of 1892, it was rebuilt in the 1950s and still stands today at the corner of Duckworth and Ordnance Street
Tasting Notes
An American Pale Ale dry-hopped with Citra and Columbus. Soft mouthfeel and a fruity hop character makes for an easy-drinking, and well rounded American Pale Ale.
Method
The beer style that launched the craft beer movement. The American pale ale beer was inspired by the English pale ale, replacing its English counterpart’s earthy, herbal hops with generous additions of boldly citrus and pine-like American varieties. Characterised by floral, fruity, citrus-like, piney, resinous American hops, the American pale ale is a medium-bodied beer packed with hop flavour.
