Benjamin Bridge vineyards are located in the heart of the Gaspereau Valley on the Bay of Fundy, where the cool climate bears an uncanny affinity with the Champagne region of France. The estate makes a range of wines;sparkling, white, red, rose, dry and sweet. Though the focus is on making world-class Méthode Classique sparkling wines that have been compared in tastings to Champagne. The hand crafted wines of Benjamin Bridge have helped raise the profile of the Nova Scotian wine industry.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, a pale golden colour with a straw hue. On the nose, the wine displays suggestions of smoke and lemon rind with strong sea minerals undertones. The palate is luscious, but with good intensity and vibrancy. Featuring both substantial structure and elegance, vibrant notes of lime blossom and hints of smoke echo through an expressive finish. The palate has a broad round texture and classic Nova Scotian freshness.
Method
Finally, Benjamin Bridge has released it’s first Non-Vintage traditional method sparkling wine so we can now enjoy top quality Nova Scotian bubbly on a more frequent basis. Like all of the great Champagne Houses and growers that express a signature or house-style through the blending of various vintages in their annual Champagne releases, Benjamin Bridge’s Non-Vintage wine draws upon reserve wines going back nearly fifteen years. It is a blend of 55% L’Acadie Blanc and 45% Chardonnay.
