Rocca di Castagnoli, near Siena, is one of the most ancient and noble Chianti Classico estates. The village of Castagnoli rises from the heart of the Chianti Classico, on a hill once frequented by the Etruscans. From there it overlooks the surrounding valley from the top of a small hill that evokes ancient times, surrounded by woods, vineyards and olive trees.
Aromas of ripe red fruit, black pepper and leather. On the palate it is fullbodied, structured and potent, with a fresh finish that adds elegance with powerful, velvety tannins that wrap around the palate. A wine of great character intended for long aging.
This 100% organically-farmed Cabernet Sauvignon. Selected grapes from a small Buriano vineyard at 450 meters with surface Galestro stone and limestone. This is an area that is particularly suited for lengthy, complex ripening on the vine. Maceration is performed at a controlled temperature for 10-12 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless steel vats, which is followed by maturation for at least 15 months in French oak barrique, partly new and partly first-passage.
