Domaine Huet, founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son Gaston, now has thirty hectares of Chenin Blanc planted on three plots: the Haut-Lieu, the Mont and Clos du Bourg. The estate was one of the forerunners of biodynamic cultivation in the French vineyard. This method of cultivation, which respects the soil, the plant and the environment, helps to develop the character of the wines and to preserve the authenticity of the terroirs. The work in the vineyard is guided by the different rhythms of the planets, in the more or less conscious manner of the winegrowers of past centuries.

Tasting Notes

Pronounced aromas of almond, fresh herbs, honey and baked apple.  The palate is off dry with juicy high acidity, richly textured and concentrated ripe pear and minerality that carry through to a long finish.  Drinking well now but also tastes and feels like this is a wine with serious ageing potential. 


The Chenin Blanc grapes for this wine come from the 8 hectare Le Mont vineyard; which is characterized by its flinty soil; pebbly clay and silica.  The grapes are hand harvested in two or three passages through the vineyard in October and early November. Bunches are gently  pressed intact and wild yeast fermented in large and small oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is stopped by racking the wine and adding sulfur dioxide (which is the only addition) and then lightly filtered before bottling.
