“Entre Copains” is a wine in the Vignerons Catalans portfolio. Vignerons Catalans is a producers’ group whose mission is to establish, grow and secure recognition for Roussillon wines in France and abroad. The group brings together men and women who have a strong bond with its history, values and roots. Both passionate and visionary wine growers with a strong community spirit. As a leading company on the Roussillon wine scene, they champion the values of the co-operative movement and the strong identity of wine regions in Catalan country. Roussillon is a small region that is home to myriad, outstanding terroirs, a sunny climate, warm weather and wind exposure conducive to wine growing. The geological tapestry into which the vineyards are woven enables Les Vignerons Catalans to produce a richly-endowed range of wines. They work with over 1500 growers covering 10 000 hectares in 15 different Roussillon appellations.
For over fifty years, they have had a presence in the region; staying tuned into market and consumer requirements; constantly improving the quality of their products; innovating and developing new concepts; and promoting open-mindedness and respect for the environment.
Tasting Notes
An intense, powerful nose showing aromas of black fruits, violet and black pepper. The palate is full, fleshy and balanced with well integrated tannins and balanced acidity. It shows impeccable harmony. A wine made to be enjoyed young, ideally drunk within 18 months of the vintage to fully enjoy its array of fresh, fruity aromas and flavours. Food pairing suggestions include grilled duck breasts, thyme-flavoured lamb chops, steak with a pepper sauce and strong cheeses.
Method
The grapes for this wine are sourced from vineyards located in the heart of Roussillon, stretching over wide, clay-limestone and stony terraces. A blend of Grenache Noir and Carignan, harvested at optimum ripeness then destemmed and crushed before undergoing traditional maceration at moderate temperatures with regular pumping over. The wine ages in tanks for a few months before early bottling.
