The vineyards at Laurent Miquel in southern France’s Languedoc region date back to 1202, when the monks of Abbey de Fontcaude first began growing vines there. Today, Laurent Miquel is the 8th generation of his family works these vineyards alongside his wife Neasa. They grow local and varietals as well as varietals not normally grown in the region. He farms sustainably and his winemaking philosophy is to respect the past while innovating and improving upon it resulting in a range of elegant, high quality wines with a lot of personality.
Tasting Notes
Pronounced citrus on the nose, lemon and lime zest, green papaya and subtle floral note reminiscent of lily. The aromas carry onto the palate with flavors of pear and tropical fruit complimenting the citrusy notes and an underlying vein of brine. This is snappy and refreshing white that will pair well with seafood or vegetarian starters, tangy goat cheese, green salads with citrus and sushi.
Method
This wine is named after the producer’s daughter. It’s uncommon to see Albarino produced in southern France making this a very unique wine. Made from sustainbly grown grapes and fermented in stainless steel for a fresh and clean result.
