Bodegas As Laxas is a historic estate in the Galicia region of northwestern Spain. It is located in the Rías Baixas (ree-ahs-buy-shuss) Denomination of Origin (DO) and has become Spain’s premium white wine producing region. The staring grape here is Albariño (al-ba-ree-nyo).  This coastal region benefits from a cool, wet though thankfully sunny, maritime climate.  Its granite soils are well suited to producing crisp and minerally white wines.

Tasting Notes

This is a clear, brilliant wine in the glass with pronounced aromas of green fruit and stone fruit as well as light floral notes. Typical Albariño freshness on the palate is balanced by a round mouth filling palate.

Method

Fermentation of the alcohol takes place in stainless steel vats, at a controlled temperature of 18ºC; when fully fermented, all the wines are decanted to separate the dregs, followed by the blending of the various vats. The wine is then stabilized by applying cold, filtered and bottled, after passing through a microbe-free filter process to ensure that the wine is preserved in the bottle in perfect condition.

Crisp, fresh, stony, floral, even a hint of almond – a solid albarino.
