François-Xavier Nicholas is an artisan negociant in the Rhône area of France and he primarily works with growers in the Rhône, Provence and Languedoc regions. He recognizes that quality ingredients are the foundation of good wines hence his close relationships with growers and is hands on approach in the cellar. He works closely with with vignerons and winemakers to ensure that wines under his label are crafted with the best fruit and in the style that best expressed their primary ingredients and the land.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, intense red and black fruit aromas and light spice. On the palate, those flavours are echoed with added medium weight, balanced acidity, and soft tannins. Pair with a characturie spread, cheese platter, or your favourite cut/preparation of red meat.
Method
Made from 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, the grapes are grown on gravelly clay soil, mechanically harvested, and fermented in epoxy-resin lined cement tanks to preserve the primary fruit and freshness of the wine. Lightly filtered before bottling.
