In 1888, a group of Italian immigrants planted vines in Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo, in the Mendoza region. This was the beginning of Nieto Senetiner’s wine legacy and ultimately Argentina’s wine industry as well. The Nieto Senetiner winery has over 130 years of tradition and is known across Argentina for products of exceptional quality. The company is well respected within Argentina and in international markets and is committed to continuous renewal and is always evolving.
Tasting Notes
Brooding and intense. A classic Malbec from Nieto’s premium Agrelo vineyards, with flavours reminiscent of those desert soils. Dark, dense complex nose with sweet cranberries, blackberries and rich mocha characters. The palate is smooth and rounded with supple tannins and a long intense pure finish with hints of bitter chocolate and spice. Enjoy this with hearty pasta dishes, steak, grilled meats.
Method
Made by longstanding winemaker Roberto Gonzalez from Nieto’s pergola trained Malbec vines. The vines are between 40 -45 years old. Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
