North Brewing started in the North-End of Halifax, Nova Scotia under the name Bridge Brewing, but have since changed names to North Brewing. In the spring of 2019 they moved to much larger new brewery on Portland St. in Dartmouth. With a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, North Brewing strives to be a zero emissions craft brewery while producing exceptional, hand-crafted beers.
Tasting Notes
Characterised by floral, fruity, citrus-like, piney or resinous American-variety hop character, the West Coast IPA beer style is all about hop flavour, aroma and bitterness.
Method
North wanted to make a more ‘classic’, clear and hoppy IPA, without going too far back in time, think early 2000’s. This beer is brewed with pale malt, as well as a bit of Munich and crystal malt for flavor and color. They used 4 different hop varieties in the boil and the dry hopping to build a well-rounded hop character without going too bitter or too fruity. We’re all pretty happy with how it turned out!
