Tasting Notes
Intense purplish red and bright in the glass. Pronounced aromas of fresh red fruit and a hint of spice. Smooth and full on the attack, with soft tannins and a lengthy finish. Enjoy with steak topped with blue cheese, burgers or mushroom stuffed peppers.
Method
The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in San Patricio del Chañar, at 39° latitude South, 55 km away from the city of Neuquén, in Patagonia. The steep slopes, relatively cool continental climate, constant cool breezes and water from the Neuquén river optimize grape growing here. The grapes are mechanically harvested at night to take advantage of the cool temperatures. Cold skin maceration for 3 days followed by fermentation at 24°C in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. Fifteen percent whole cluster fermentation with 19 days of maceration. Ten percent of the blend aged in oak barrels for 10 months.
