Zenato Chiaretto Rose (750ml)
Zenato is a historic and well respected name in Northern Italy’s Veneto region. Sergio Zenato started the winery in 1960 and today the family tradition in winemaking is carried on by his children Alberto and Nadia. The estate produces a range of white and red wines.
This wine is produced in the zone overlooking the southeast coast of lake Garda, between Bardolino and Peschiera. It is created by leaving the must in contact with the skins for a short time in order to delicately colour the juice.
A blend of 65% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, and 10% Merlot. This wine has a strong personality, offering notes of raspberries and blackcurrants with grassy undertones that are mirrored harmoniously in the mouth. On the palate, it is delicate and balanced with structured acidity and a lingering sweet almond finish.
I love to drink French rose, but this dry Italian variation is impressive; lots of raspberry notes on nose with some grassy freshness and balanced acidity. Perfect to sip on its own, with antipasti or white meats.
