Riff Terra Alpina Pinot Grigio
In the rugged Northern Italian Alps, the Alois Lageder winery produces fresh and lively wines together with partners from the Veneto region. Based out of Alto-Adige, Alois Lageder is the fifth generation at the head of the estate, in the nothernmost wine region of Italy. The Pinot Grigio is a popular varietal in the area and is beloved for its straightforward clean citrus and tree fruit flavours and pure minerality.
Currently on the shelves at Bishop’s Cellar is the Terra Alpina Vino delle Dolomiti Pinot Grigio by Alois Legeder. This is a different wine than the “Riff” Pinot Grigio by the same producer. The winery accidently mis-shipped our order and sent us a more premium Pinot Grigio in place of the Riff. This wine is more terroir driven and concentrated than Riff Pinot Grigio (though both are good wines, they are unique products). We hope our customers will enjoy this alternative offering from the same producer as Riff. The upside is that we get to enjoy a wine that would otherwise be priced higher in our market at a more affordable price as Bishop’s Cellar is selling the Terra Alpina for the same price as the Riff.
