TintoNegro, meaning black wine in Spanish, is meant to celebrate the essence of Malbec in Mendoza. Known for its dark, blackish color Malbec is definitely a TintoNegro. TintoNegro was born of the long time friendship and professional collaboration of Alejandro Sejanovich and Jeff Mausbach, colleagues at Bodega Catena Zapata for almost 15 years, along with Jorge Crotta.
As Wine Education Director for Catena, Jeff travelled the world preaching the gospel of the unique character of high altitude Malbec from Mendoza. As Vineyard Director at Catena, Alejandro had extensive, first hand experience growing Malbec in diverse Mendoza terroirs. His intimate knowledge of the top vineyards in each region means TintoNegro wines are made from only the best fruit each area has to offer. Jorge Crotta brings his business studies and his industry experience to the team.
TintoNegro wines are meant to reflect the heart and soul of Malbec in Mendoza. The portfolio explores the terroirs of Mendoza where Malbec does best, gradually isolating unique vineyard sites and winemaking techniques which can showcase the heights of concentration and complexity to which Malbec can aspire.
Masottina is the historic brand of the Dal Bianco family, a reality born and grown in the hills of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. The company was founded in 1946 by grandfather Epifanio Dal Bianco, who laid the foundations to produce excellent wines. His eldest son Adriano (an oenologist who studied at the School of Viticulture and Oenology, in the Historical School of Conegliano) is at the helm of the company together with his sons who carry on the production with dedication and tenacity. The Dal Bianco family has almost three hundred hectares of vineyards, the majority extend over the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene. Masottina produces a range of Prosecco and is committed to limiting their environmental footprint in the vineyards and winemaking. They currently farm 87 hectares of vines organically and others undergoing conversion.
