Catherine and François have a 45-hectare wine estate in Vallet, in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation area. Growing Muscadet’s one and only grape variety, Melon, is their passion. They are committed to an approach that respects the soil, the climate and the natural environment.   Catherine Boulanger has been running the family estate since 1991.  Her father Jean used to manage the vineyard for 30 years. Generosity and energy are qualities we can find in Catherine’s wines (maybe because that’s the way she is too !). Catherine and François grow classic Loire varietals such as Melon de Bourgogne (Muscadet), Gamay, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc, Moulin Camus produces IGP and Vin de France wines along with wines from other Loire appellations.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, pronounced herbaceous notes, light citrus pith, and tangerine come to mind. On the palate, those same citrus and herbaceous aromas come through with added mouthwatering acidity. Pair with goat cheese, your favourite cold, summer salad, or a classic- ratatouille.

Method

Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the grapes are planted on schist-based soils. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel and the wine rests briefly before bottling and release.

The Moulin Camus Sauvignon is an excellent, white wine. We enjoy it with almost anything but particularly with Roquefort cheese and good bread. Not sweet or bitter, pleasant on the tongue, a delight with almost any meal, served chilled.
