The Allagash Brewing Company has been consistently cited as one of the greatest American craft breweries. Since opening their doors in 1995, Allagash has become one of the most acclaimed and influential craft breweries in America. Their flagship beer, Allagash White, makes up 85% of total production and is widely considered one of the best examples of the style outside of Belgium. The other 15% of production spans American craft styles like IPAs and Stouts, as well as world-class spontaneously fermented and barrel aged beers.

Tasting Notes
Like a clear night lit by stars, this silky American stout balances light notes of fruit and sweetness with roasty malt. Pouring dark with long lasting head, this stout features detailed and refined dark malt notes that mingle with subtle American hop herbaceousness. The palate is rich but refined, and does not venture into the brooding, inky heavy stout style – it’s very drinkable with lots of roasty flavour. Allow the beer to warm slightly for best results.
Try it out with Oysters, Mushroom Risotto, S’mores, or Beef Stew.
Method
American stout beer is perhaps one of the most identifiable creations of the American beer world. Stout beer is about as dark of an American beer as can be, and has a very noticeable of appearance, aroma and flavor. As one of the thicker, darker American beers on the craft beer scene, American stout beer is perfect for the colder seasons.
Strikingly bold and undeniably beautiful, the American stout beer style blends generous amounts of dark malts with American hops to offer an adventurous experience that is unmatched by other styles of beer. North Sky from Allagash is brewed with 2-Row Barley, Local Pale Malt, Local Oats, Torrified Wheat, Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, and Midnight Wheat. Northern Brewer and Cascade hops deliver assertive but refined bitterness.
