After any iterations and countless hours of planning, Banished Brewing opened their doors in early 2022 and have quickly established themselves as one of Newfoundland’s most sought-after breweries. Their goal is to contribute to and enhance the craft beer community, create products that will evolve with their education and abilities, build a brand focused on quality, represent the arts, and have as much fun as possible along the way. With quality recipes, and label artwork done by Halifax’s own Paul Hammond, these delicious beers will impress both your eyes and palate.
Tasting Notes
Black as night with heavy notes of chocolate and coffee, no adjuncts were added so you to know you’re drinking a 9% Imperial Stout. A beverage for cold nights and wood stoves. Best enjoyed at, or near, room temperature. This one will age very well so throw a couple in the cellar for a few years.
Method
Imperial denotes the elevated alcohol content, often between 7.0% and 12% ABV. Can be brewed with English hops if the sub style is English Imperial Stout, or with American hops if the sub style is American Imperial Stout. These beers have complex malt bills, often with several types of dark malts that create very rich, and intense flavours.
