Carn Mor is proudly owned by Morrison Scotch Whisky distiller’s. Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers is solely owned and operated by one of Scotland’s oldest and most prominent whisky families, run today by Jamie and Brian Morrison. Our legacy gives us access to a wide variety of unique and exceptional casks from pedigree distilleries across Scotland.
Glentauchers distillery was established in 1898 by James Buchanan & Co. and was used as a practice area for continuous distillation. Mothballed in 1985 during the infamous Scotch slump, it wasn’t until August of 1992 that they began production again. With most of its production being used in blends, it is rare to see a Glentauchers single Malt scotch in the market.
Tasting Notes
From the distillery: “Butterscotch and cinnamon with toffee sweets and a creamy mouthfeel.”
Method
The Strictly Limited range is made of largely small-batch whisky. These small batch runs are created by marrying together, roughly, two to four casks of whisky to yield, again roughly, 800-1,600 bottles. Strictly Limited releases are nearly always bottled at 47.5%, and are natural colour, non-chill filtered. These whiskies tend to be a great value way of trying a diverse range of distilleries and cask styles.
Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2021. Finished in Virgin Oak casks. Non chill filtered, bottled at 47.5%. 1701 bottles produced.
Our Thoughts
Nose: Caramel apples, fresh cut wood. Brown bread, cheesecake, New York-style.
Palate: Apple pie, brown sugar, light-bodied, vanilla, and custard.
Finish: Woody texture with vanilla extract.
