Tasting Notes
Braeside Bitter pours a brilliant copper and has the unmistakable aroma of English hops to balance out the firm amber malt profile. Biscuit, toffee, and marmalade notes are balanced with floral, herbal, and earthy notes. The palate drinks with mid-palate complexity before getting out of way for a clean and refined finish.
Try this classic style out next time you’re enjoying some Fish & Chips, or a crumbly mature cheddar cheese.
Method
This style is known for its balance and the interplay between malt and hop bitterness. English pale ales, or Bitters, display earthy, herbal English-variety hop character. Medium hop bitterness, flavour and aroma should be evident. The yeast strains used in these beers lend a fruitiness to their aromatics and flavour, referred to as esters. The residual malt and defining sweetness of this richly flavoured and medium bodied.
