Meinklang is biodynamic family run farmstead located in East Austria.  They are nestled in the middle of the World Heritage Site of the National Park Neusiedlersee, on the Eastern side of the Neusiedlersee Lake, bordering directly on the Hungarian lowlands, where life’s diversity and complexity are celebrated.  They grow mixed crops; grapes for wine production, fruit crops, flowers, ancient grains.  They also have a herd of Angus and Aubrac cattle, which provide natural fertilizer for the land, and are represented on the wine’s labels.

Tasting Notes

Enticing aromas of rose and orange blossom water, wild flowers, apricot and peach.  The palate is light and fresh with those same floral and tree fruit notes coming through.  This style of wine, with it’s gorgeous aromas and high toned fruit flavours and vibrancy make it very easy to drink on its own and the perfect wine for summertime consumption.  Enjoy it with smoked fish, salads, cruditées, charcuterie.

Made from organic / biodynamic Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling and Muscat from a 70 hectare vineyard.  The soil is sandy loam, with rocky topsoil.   The grapes are hand harvested and fermented separately, spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel followed by a four months rest period on the lees.  The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined with a minimal 40 mg/L sulphur addition.
