Nestled in Blackford, Scotland, Tullibardine’s history dates as far back as the 1400s, where the buildings formerly housed a brewery – even serving beer to King James 4th of Scotland! Flash forward to 1947 when the brewery was converted into a distillery, producing its first drop of spirit in 1949. Despite the distillery changing hands a few times over the years since, Tullibardine’s reputation for the highest quality Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky hasn’t wavered.
Tasting Notes
Characteristic Tullibardine bourbon notes of vanilla, caramel, cream soda, sweet nectar, and oak intertwine with layers of dried fruit and warming spice on the nose. The palate echoes the indulgent nose, there’s more spices to be found of nutmeg, cinnamon and candied ginger cushioned with a hint of brown sugar. Spice on the palate mellows, the finish is smooth and buttery.
Method
Tullibardine 18 Year Old has been matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks. Distilled in 2005, this is the latest addition to Tullibardine’s core range of single malts.
