Aromatic & Vibrant Whites
Characterized by exotic fruit and floral aromas; this style is the flower garden of the wine world. These wines range from lightly perfumed to intensely aromatic and spicy. There are some grape varieties that are particularly suited to this style, many wines that fall into this category are “off-dry” and “medium dry” while there are bone dry wines too. This is the best type of wine for cuisine that uses a lot of aromatic spices and off-dry versions are ideal partners to cool the palate with any hot, spicy foods.
Although this style can be made throughout the world, it is most often associated with cooler regions where aromatics tend to develop more slowly and intensely. The white wines of Alsace, Germany and Nova Scotia fall into this category.
