Crisp & Light Whites

These wines are described as light, crisp and neutral.  These are the driest and brightest of the white wines. Acidity levels are usually medium to high, making these wines extremely refreshing, and food friendly.

Crisp & Light wines are very compatible with light salads, fish and delicate flavours. The wine’s aromas and flavours are not very intense, but they are clean and fresh often characterized by flinty minerality, green fruit and citrus. Cool climate regions are noted for this style of wine, typically fermented and matured in stainless steel with minimal or neutral oak to retain all of the grape’s own aromas and flavours.

Aromas and flavours: green fruit, citrus, mineral, herbal

Great examples: Muscadet, Sancerre, L’Acadie Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Soave, Chablis
