Movia from Brda, Slovenia 🇸🇮

Founded in 1820, the Movia winery in Brda, Slovenia, became one of Europe’s most celebrated wineries after World War II. Located in Ceglo, near Italy’s Collio region, Movia gained international acclaim in the late 1990s, putting Slovenia on the global wine map. Now led by winemaker Aleš Kristančič, known for his dynamic personality and commitment to organic, biodynamic practices, Movia produces varieties like Rebula, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir, all without herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides. These rare wines are here in limited quantities so don’t miss out on grabbing a bottle before they’re gone!

Movia Sauvignon Vert Brda Suho Belo Vino ZGP

Originally founded in 1820, the Movia winery and estate in Brda (Slovenia) was one of Europe’s most famous wineries in the years that followed World War II.  Located in the village of Ceglo in the heart of the Brda appellation, just across the border from Italy; a stone’s throw away from Friuli-Venezia-Giulia’s Collio region. Movia put the Slovenia on the map of the world’s great wine regions in the late 1990s when the interest in wines grown in former Eastern Bloc states began to flourish.

The current generation of Movia is led by winemaker Aleš Kristančič who is as renowned for his passionate embrace of organic and biodynamic farming practices as he is for his larger-than-life personality and ingenious approach to winemaking.

Today, Aleš primarily grows Rebula, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir — all without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides.
