After many iterations and countless hours of planning, Banished Brewing opened their doors in early 2022 and have quickly established themselves as one of Newfoundland’s most sought-after breweries. Their goal is to contribute to and enhance the craft beer community, create products that will evolve with their education and abilities, build a brand focused on quality, represent the arts, and have as much fun as possible along the way. With quality recipes, and label artwork done by Halifax’s own Paul Hammond, these delicious beers will impress both your eyes and palate.

Tasting Notes

Paradise Town is a series of fruited sour beers from Banished, this version is with fresh whole tangerines. Pouring bright orange and bursting with fresh citrus aromas that leads into a light refreshing palate that’s packed with tangerine flavour. This easy drinking tart fruit beer is the perfect summer style!

Method

Unless intended, sourness in beer is considered a fault. In the case of Berliner Weiss, Gose, and Kettle soured beers – bacteria is added intentionally to produce different forms of acidity that contribute to pleasant tart flavours and mouthfeel. These beers can be blended with various fruits; Paradise Town has loads of fresh tangerines added.
