Benjamin Bridge vineyards are located in the heart of the Gaspereau Valley on the Bay of Fundy, where the cool climate bears an uncanny affinity with the Champagne region of France. The estate makes a range of wines;sparkling, white, red, rose, dry and sweet. Though the focus is on making world-class Méthode Classique sparkling wines that have been compared in tastings to Champagne. The hand crafted wines of Benjamin Bridge have helped raise the profile of the Nova Scotian wine industry.

Tasting Notes

In the glass, a bright ruby colour with a magenta hue. On the nose, inviting notes of red and black fruit, lavender and a touch of spice. On the palate, a rich core of fruit, tangy acids and echoing suggestions of blackcurrant with a light and refreshing effervescence.  Serve well-chilled with wood-fired pizza and grilled foods, or enjoy a delightful glass on its own.

This Ruby Piquette is a lightly effervescent red—think Lambrusco if you’re familiar with the popular sparkling Italian red.  Produced using the Piquette method by rehydrating grape skins and adding a little blackcurrant for more flavour, colour and concentration, resulting in an easy-going, low-alcohol style.  Low alcohol at 5.5% and zero residual sugar.
