Easily one of the most loved and respected craft breweries in all of Canada. Opening their brewpub in 1998, Dieu du Ciel has gone on to world acclaim for not only their wide range of styles, but the quality and consistency of each beer they make. With a lively, and character filled pub in Montreal’s Plateau neighborhood, to their list of collaborations with breweries all over the world, DDC has something for everyone.

Tasting Notes

Concentrated aromas of fresh grapefruit juice, orange peel, herbal spice, and light caramel malt that lead into an intense palate with firm flavours and bitterness. The dry finish is highly aromatic and slightly resinous, invoking tropical fruits atop dominant hop bitterness.

Method

This IPA is brewed with an excessive quantity of Simcoe, Citra and Centennial hops, and was crafted at the Montreal location in 2012 in collaboration with John Kimmich of The Alchemist brewery in Vermont, USA.

Our Thoughts

When two great breweries come together, it should come as no surprise when they make an incredible beer. Typically not my favourite style- I tend to prefer a juicier IPA, the Moralite is an exceptionally great Westy (West Coast style). Rich caramel and bitter orange jump out first, finishing resinous and dry. The higher ABV is sure to warm you up on a nice cool evening; try it alongside mango curry.
