Tasting Notes

Lightly sour, and super bright. This beer is dry-hopped with Cryo-Pop and Citra. On the nose you will find mandarin, lime, and gooseberry. The light acidity makes it super crushable – and you’ll find that mandarin, lime, and gooseberry carry over on the palate. Spyhop is well balanced and lively.

Unless intended, sourness in beer is considered a fault. However, in the case of Berliner Weiss, Gose, and Kettle soured beers – bacteria is added intentionally to produce different forms of acidity that contribute to pleasant tart flavours and mouthfeel. These beers can be blended with various fruits, but in the case of the Sour IPA – loads of hops are added for bitterness, flavour, and aroma at different stages. This creates a juicy and citrusy beer with a refreshing tart finish.
